Charlie Dutton
Charlie Dutton
Dutton takes his inspiration from the idea of human control, not just in the way we control our physical world but also our philosophical, ontologically and abstract. How we react unconsciously to people and our sensual surroundings. These are all encompassing, phenomenological issues, however a foundation to an engaging visual interest. The use of re-photographed images, digital layers, shapes and comfortable colour and tones, which takes Dutton on an exploration of texture and the sensuality which we encounter within our human surroundings. The sort of things you see in the corner of your eye, objects you touch unconsciously, the smells you feel, like a recall or a delusional memory, but by no means nostalgic, it’s something a little more sinister. These series of photographs convey these anxieties of that unknown.
