Continuing to deal with emotional susceptibilities and our relationship to the world, “Performances” is a new series of sub-projects which use a variety of presentations to observe the universal emotion of embarrassment.
In ‘Burrow I’ and ‘II’, the fantasy and reality of this painful emotion exist alongside each other. With its’ sequences and content, ‘Traveller’ is more directly influenced by the black and white performance photography of the late 60s / early 70s, in particular Keith Arnatt's 1969 piece “Self-Burial”.
Together these pieces playfully explore how the mood of a person can be physically and metaphorically masked.
