Fundamental to this project is Heraclitus’s idea that - all things come into being by conflict of opposites - and his notion of dynamic unity of reality “All is becoming, All is opposites”.
I am intrigued by the idea that the eternal hidden nature of things unfolds and is made manifest by means of its opposite. By transcending the apparent duality and moving beyond opposites.
I see the tunnel as a symbol of a journey down below the surface (the ascent of transformation) to a place where one can transcend time and opposites coexist. A metaphorical return to the womb, the origin. A space of eternity where the interconnectedness of things transpires.
True light is hidden in darkness.
