My focus is working on the project Borderland, a series exploring the experience of pushing personal boundaries and releasing inhibitions within the context of the psychological concept of the shadow. Using equipment currently underutilised in professional photography I aspire to capture raw emotional narratives. In other projects I am continuing to challenge conventional/social photography by trying to push its boundaries. I work in an expressive manner, relying less on photographic equipment and technique but instead relying on feelings and chance. In doing this, combined with experimental methods employed, I aim to bridge photography and painting so as to emphasise the fine art and mixed media nature of my practise.
